Permission To Quote The LSB

The text of the LSB® (Legacy Standard Bible®) may be quoted in any form (written, visual, electronic, or audio) up to and inclusive of one thousand (1,000) verses providing the verses do not amount to a complete book of the Bible, nor do the verses quoted account for more than 50% of the total text of the work in which they are quoted, nor may more than 1,000 verses be stored in an electronic retrieval system.

Notice of copyright must appear as follows, unless otherwise stated below, on the title page, copyright page, or the section where the quoted material appears:

“Scripture quotations taken from the (LSB®) Legacy Standard Bible®, Copyright © 2021 by The Lockman Foundation. Used by permission. All rights reserved. Managed in partnership with Three Sixteen Publishing Inc.  LSBible.org and 316publishing.com.”

Not-for-sale Media
When quotations from the LSB text are used in certain not-for-sale print material, such as church bulletins, orders of service, posters, or similar media, the abbreviation (LSB) may simply be used after the quotation.

When quotations from the LSB text are used in certain not-for-sale digital media, such as presentation slides, digital orders of service, or similar media, the abbreviation (LSB) may simply be used after the quotation.

For [other] digital media, such as social media posts, blogs, or email the abbreviation (LSB) may simply be used along with the quotation provided it is a click-enabled web link to www.LSBible.org, when possible.

For web pages or apps the full copyright notice must be used with www.LSBible.org being a click-enabled web link.

Video & Audio Recordings and Streaming Media
When quotations from the LSB text are used in video or audio recordings or streaming media, the following statement must be included in the video or audio file, “Scripture quotations taken from the (LSB®) Legacy Standard Bible®, Copyright © 2021 by The Lockman Foundation. Used by permission. All rights reserved. Managed in partnership with Three Sixteen Publishing Inc. LSBible.org and 316publishing.com

If the video or audio is available for download for offline access, the same copyright notice must be on the web page and in the app and be a click-enabled weblink to www.LSBible.org

For Artwork or Non-Printed Merchandise
For artwork or non-printed merchandise the full copyright information does not need to appear on the product itself, but it must appear on the tag or packaging.
